OUR CURRICULUM

An MBA-style experience with project-based learning

While most summer programs offer general enrichment, Hudson Lab Ventures stands out as one of the only experiences intentionally modeled after the MBA journey. Rooted in project-based learning and real-world problem-solving, our Innovation Challenges are co-designed each year with executives from leading companies and institutions that we partner with.

Students don’t just explore ideas—they take on active business challenges that organizations are working to solve today. It’s a uniquely immersive, MBA-style experience built for the next generation of innovators.

What is Project-based Learning?

Project-based Learning (PBL) is an approach where students learn by actively exploring and solving real-world problems, rather than simply absorbing information. This ensures that every challenge is meaningful, relevant, and rich with opportunities for students to apply entrepreneurial thinking, creativity, and collaboration in ways that mirror the work of leading innovators around the globe.

THE PROCESS

At Hudson Lab Ventures, students take on a structured Innovation Challenge—an intensive two-week summer experience that mirrors how real startups and innovation teams work. Using our dynamic “Teach, Practice, Do” model, students move through every stage of the innovation process. The program culminates in a powerful business pitch, translating ideas into real-world solutions. Along the way, students are guided by a team of mentors, executive advisors, and designers who provide expert feedback and support at every step.

THE LEARNING

Through our curriculum, students take away a powerful set of entrepreneurial skills they can apply well beyond the program. They learn to identify and reframe complex problems, evaluate market opportunities, and design viable business models. Along the way, they practice pitching their ideas—sharpening their communication and persuasion skills. By working in diverse teams, students also strengthen their leadership and collaboration abilities. Immersed in collegiate or corporate environments—often in a new country—they engage in meaningful cross-cultural exchange, gaining a global perspective and learning to adapt to different professional and academic cultures.
