Hudson Lab Ventures Alumni Advocacy Program
Thank you for helping the next cohort find HLV
Over the past few years, Hudson Lab Ventures has received a growing number of student referrals from alumni. We are deeply grateful for this support. Many students find HLV because someone who has been through the program took the time to reflect on their experience and share it thoughtfully.
We have learned that when alumni speak honestly about HLV, students make better decisions about whether the program is the right fit. The HLV Alumni Advocacy Program exists to recognize this kind of thoughtful support and to make participation clear, optional, and appreciated.
About The Program
Alumni Advocacy is a voluntary way for alumni to support Hudson Lab Ventures by sharing their experience when it feels appropriate. Some alumni actively recommend HLV to students or families they know. Others help increase awareness at their school.
This program is not a requirement, a sales role, or a competition. It exists because alumni perspective carries weight, and we want to acknowledge that responsibly.
Ways to Participate
1. Direct Alumni Advocacy
Some alumni choose to recommend Hudson Lab Ventures to students or families they know. This may include talking with a prospective student or parent, making an introduction, or encouraging someone to apply based on personal experience. When alumni do this thoughtfully, it helps students decide whether HLV is a good fit for them, which matters more to us than volume.
If a student enrolls and names an HLV alumnus on their application, the student receives a tuition credit and the alumnus is credited with the referral.
How recognition works
We keep recognition simple and proportional to the program a student enrolls in. Alumni receive $250 in cash or $500 in tuition credit for each referred student who enrolls in a 2-week program as a paying participant. For 1-week programs, alumni receive $125 in cash or $250 in tuition credit for each referred student who enrolls as a paying participant.
Referral recognition is confirmed in September after enrollment and participation are complete. Alumni may indicate a preference for cash or tuition credit at the time of payout.
Referral recognition applies only to enrolled, paying students and may be adjusted or not applied in cases of significant financial aid.

2. Poster and Awareness Support
Other alumni prefer to support HLV by helping increase awareness at their school. This may include hanging approved HLV posters or sharing their experience when classmates ask. This kind of visibility helps students encounter HLV organically, without pressure. If a student enrolls and indicates they learned about HLV from a poster at their school, that enrollment is counted as poster-supported discovery.
Recognition for poster participation
Alumni who participate in poster placement receive a $100 annual honorarium. This honorarium recognizes contribution and effort, regardless of whether students from that school enroll. Poster participation is recognized for contribution, not per-student outcomes.
